At Giving Nature Center we offer workshops and classes to give you tools to care for your own health naturally.

"For several years I’d suffered from malaise and a perpetual low-grade fever. The doctors didn’t know the cause, even after extensive testing. They said I had been exposed to Epstein-Barr virus and that this might be the problem, but they had no advice for treatment. I decided to try acupuncture at Giving Nature Center and finally got some relief! The fevers pretty much cleared up right away, and over a few months’ time my energy came back, then my lifelong insomnia resolved as well. I’m a believer in acupuncture and will continue to use it to stay in good health."

Community Acupunture

Giving Nature Center is pleased to offer a low-cost community acupuncture clinic as an alternative for those who may not be able to afford private treatments.

Community Acupuncture hours are 12 PM - 7 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 12 PM - 5 PM on Friday.

In community-style acupuncture, the acupuncturist primarily utilizes points located below the knee and elbow, and on the head and neck, so that patients can remain fully clothed during treatment.* During treatment you are comfortably seated in a zero-gravity recliner rather than on a treatment table.

Both community and private acupuncture treatments may be booked in advance by phone or online.

Fee: $25*

*There is a one-time initial administrative fee of $15.
**Please wear loose-fitting clothes that allow you to roll up your pant legs and sleeves.

Women's Bio-Identical Hormone Balance Workshop

As women reach menopause and hormones fluctuate, many changes take place in the body. With all the conflicting information out there it's hard to know what to do.

After hearing from our friends and clients we have developed this program to address YOUR needs and concerns.

Conducted by Dr. Michael Abrahams, and Janet Humphrey, L.Ac., this program is designed to give you the knowledge and tools you need to determine how to navigate through the life and metabolic changes surrounding menopause.

You will learn:

  • The role hormones play and how they change during peri-menopause and menopause.
  • Common symptoms, including hot flashes, insomnia, anxiety, memory loss, dryness, loss of libido, and what you can do to control or eliminate them.
  • What is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and how does it differ from conventional hormone replacement therapy?
  • Why naturally-derived bio-identical hormones are safe and how to decide if they are appropriate for you.
  • The role of diet, exercise and natural therapies including acupuncture and herbs to maintain balance in menopause.

Because the majority of physicians do not prescribe bio-identical hormones, they can be hard to find. Additionally, it typically takes up to a month to begin treatment at cost of up to $2,000. We have simplified the process to make bio-identical hormone therapy more readily available at a fraction of the cost. Dr. Abrahams will guide you through the steps and have you feeling better within days.

Dr. Michael Abrahams has been practicing his specialty of gynecology since 1996. After realizing the conventional medical school of thought fell short he began to explore holistic approaches. Since that time he has helped hundreds of women using an array of holistic and complementary techniques and treatments including bio-identical hormone replacement, vitamin and mineral supplementation, natural treatment of menopause, vulvadynia, PMS, fibroids, vaginal dryness, and infertility.

Janet Humphrey, L.Ac., is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in acupuncture and herbology (Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H.), and licensed in California and New York. She has been practicing for over twenty years and is the Founder and Director of Giving Nature Center.
