Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy is an ancient Japanese Healing Art which harmonizes body, mind and spirit. Jin Shin Jyutsu utilizes a form of light touch on 26 locations (Safety Energy Locks) on each side of the body.
Jin Shin Jyutsu was rediscovered in Japan in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Mirai. He passed on his teachings to Mary Burmeister who brought Jin Shin Jyutsu to the United States in the 1950's.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a wonderful complement to conventional healing methods. Jin Shin Jyutsu reduces the effects of stress, induces relaxation, boosts the body's immune system, and assists our innate healing capacity.
Jin Shin Jyutsu® sessions last approximately one hour with the client lying fully clothed, on his or her back on a padded table. Each session is customized and based on pulse listening, body reading, and client requests. Jin Shin Jyutsu does not involve massage, pressure, or manipulation of muscles.
The practitioner "listens" to the wrist pulses which highlight the area of the body that needs harmonizing. The practitioner gently places their fingertips or hands along specific locations (known as "Safety Energy Locks" or SEL's) on the body. This stimulates the circulation of the energy pathways which helps to clear accumulated tension and stress. Release of tension and stress helps the body to regain harmony.
Self-help techniques may be given at the end of the session to continue the body's healing process.
Best results occur with an empty stomach. For maximum benefit, do not eat a full meal within one hour of your session. If you must eat before a session have a light snack.
