Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that works with energy (physical, emotional, and mental energy) on a subtle frequency with very gentle hands on treatment. It was developed in 1922 by Mikao Usui. After three weeks of fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama, in Japan, Usui claimed to receive the ability of healing without energy depletion. A portion of the practice, palm healing, is used as a form of complementary and alternative medicine. Trained Reiki practitioners work with a sequential lying of the hands to known energy centers in the body – with the intent to heal. Documented healings have occurred for the last 85 years, and Reiki is a preferred treatment for patients with certain conditions. It is deeply relaxing and in this way promotes better immunity.
One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities, and improves and maintains health. Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well being to the recipient. This simple, non-invasive healing system works with body. Therefore it is truly a system of attaining and promoting wholeness of mind, body and spirit.
